Work to clean the aqueduct by sector will take place from:October 11th on October 27, 2021

For the duration of the work, but especially during work in your sector, please limit the use of your washer and hot water tank in order to avoid your clothes from getting soiled by rust.

If you have unfortunately stained clothes, we are distributing stain-free sachets for free. Leave a message at 450 829-2625 ext 200 to schedule a collection at the town hall.

Rinsing the network can cause a drop in network pressure during the day. Another cleaning of the network will take place in the spring.

Drinking water testing – Lead screening

Lead is one of the parameters that is the subject of a standard in the Regulation respecting the quality of drinking water. The main sources of lead in water are the lead-containing plumbing fixtures (service entrance, valves, welds, etc.) used in buildings to carry water to the user’s taps.

For this reason, the Municipality of Ormstown, which is responsible for the water distribution system, must, for lead control purposes, take tap samples from single-family dwellings or small buildings with less than eight dwellings.

If you are in doubt about the use of lead in your plumbing system, you may be eligible for home sampling.

For more information regarding this sampling, you can contact Guy Dandurand, Head of the Environmental Hygiene Department by email at eau@ormstown.ca.
